About Jay - Life and Career

Jay Chou grew up in Linkou, Taipei County, Taiwan and was born on January 18, 1979. He is a Taiwanese musician, singer, music and Film producer, actor and director who has won the World Music Award four times. He is well-known for composing all his own songs and songs for other singers.





Jay mother's is a teacher,she teaches fine arts while his father is was a biomedical researcher.His mother noticed his sensitivity to music and took him to piano lessons at the age of three. In the third grade, he became interested in music theory and also started cello lessons. (Which i think he is very cool when he played cello in one of his MV".




Jay Chou is very talented. He can play a lot of music instruments like, Piano, Guitar, Cello, Drum etc.. In fact if you notice his MV, he also can play classical music instruments like "Gu Zheng and Er Hu".. Jay has the strong ability to compose songs and write lyrics.. Like some of other artist he was discovered in a talent contest where he displayed his piano and song-writing skills. Over the next two years, he was hired to compose for popular Chinese/Taiwanese singers. He also compose songs for some Hong Kong artist like Jacky Cheong, Joey Yong etc. In 2000 Chou released his first album, titled Jay.
